Mixed Muses continuity: Kale and Atton.

Atton doesn't celebrate Earth holidays, but he does have that particular eagerness to please that means he revels in the chance to give stuff to people.

This is why, when he saw Kale in the bar, he - without any kind of preceding explanation save 'I've got something for you! - grabbed his hand and started pulling him, with all the fervor of a very excitable puppy, up the stairs.

"We could dinner and then undressing," he suggests.

"That'd seem like the practical solution."

"We do try to be practical."

"S'really why we're attracted to each other - the practicality," Atton says, solemnly. "Because we're cold, logical people like that."

"I thought it was because we were both smashingly good looking, great in bed... and um... stuff."

"An equally valid theory. Stuff?"

There's vague hand waving around. "Stuff... like personality and um... sheer stupidity and um... stuff."

Atton grins.

"Go on. You're cute when you're awkward."

And that makes him even more awkward, "Ah... um... dinner?"

"Hang on, you haven't finished telling me about stuff yet."

"I don't know any more. You are just you with lots of stuff-ness of good stuff."

"Aw. That made no sense, but aw."

"I do not know what sort of sense to make around you."

"That's very deep," Atton remarked sagely, reaching up to run his fingers through Kale's hair. "You should be, like, a philosopher or some stuff like that."

"Nah, my dad's the philosopher of the family." He tilts his head a little. "Dinner?"

"Dinner. Are we eating up here, or ... ?"

Hurm. That's a good question.

"Up here is good?"

"Up here is good."

"Good!" He gives a cheerful smile.

"Good," Atton replied, smiling. "So, er ..."

"Right... so... I'll um go and order dinner then. What do you want?"

"Oh, well, y'know. Anything'll do."

"Right."

After some thought Kale orders the holiday special. He figures that he couldn't go wrong with that.

"There."

"You are a master of ordering food, gorgeous," Atton remarks solemnly, approaching from behind Kale to wrap his arms around him.

Kale takes the opportunity to lean against Atton and nuzzle lightly. "I am the master of anything I choose to do."
