Mixed Muses continuity: Kale and Atton.

Atton doesn't celebrate Earth holidays, but he does have that particular eagerness to please that means he revels in the chance to give stuff to people.

This is why, when he saw Kale in the bar, he - without any kind of preceding explanation save 'I've got something for you! - grabbed his hand and started pulling him, with all the fervor of a very excitable puppy, up the stairs.

Kale waggles his eyebrows. "I don't believe you."

Atton waggles his eyebrows back. "You don't have to."

"There is nothing that can stop the great Delvar ramblings! Many students have fallen into a stupor listening to a Delvar ramble about the Force and other things."

"They are formidable," Atton says agreeably.

He takes a deep breath and then stops. "I was going to ramble again. But I'm not."

"You needn't stop on my account."

"But the food is getting cold. And that makes me sad."

"S'okay," Atton says comfortingly, putting an arm around Kale. "If you eat quickly, there's still time."

"You're so sweet." He kisses Atton's nose before going back to eating.

"I know."

He twirls around the fork, looking at his bare fingers a bit of an amused expression on his face. "You know... before I lost ... before I got cut off... I had to wear gloves all the time least I accidentally absorb something."

"How'd it happen?" Atton asks.

"It was stupid... really... I I've always been a rather good at picking things up. And the stronger the individual was, the easier was to pick up and the harder it was to get rid of the personality fragments." The fork twirled around in his fingers. "Living where I was, with the Exile-" He couldn't say Tobias' name "and Revan... plus a few others, I just got overwhelmed one day. I thought... well part of me thought I was Revan. I just lost who I was and I ran off to some Sith Temple Revan used to live at."

"Sounds like being cut off may've been a good thing, then. I mean, Revan is ... Revanish," Atton says, layering the word with implication. "But nobody would want to be him."

Kale gives him a flat look. "No, but there could have been another way. Anyway, Trever, the Exile and Revan tracked me down. I actually managed to hurt Revan, which is why I think he did what he did. He told the Exile to ... cut me off, said it was the only way."

The fork is stabbed against the plate. "It worked. Hah."

"But you're not alright with it."

"Would you be? It feels like this great big gaping hole inside of me."

"I suppressed my own Force powers," Atton shrugs. "Unconsciously, but still willingly. They started coming back pretty quickly - I'm too powerful for anything short of being completely cut off to keep them down for long - but still. It was the best thing."

He tilts his head backwards.

"I'd help you. If you really wanted to take the risk of going crazy again."

"I think I was too... I don't know. We're strong in the Force... my family."

He wiggled his fingers a little. "Crazy if I don't, crazy if I do. I know that if I remember to wear my gloves and not go around touching things it's easier to keep under control. I also know this is just gnawing inside of me in a worse crazy."

Kale then tapped the side of his head. "I think I'd have better luck controlling the voices in my head if I could touch the Force."

"Well, I could bond with you. You'd share my connection - your own would start healing up too, and once it'd healed, we could slowly break the bond."

Shrug. "But I don't know what'd happen there. With the Exile, my free will started to be drained. With Revan and Bastila, they started sharing dreams, pain, et cetera. With the Exile and Kreia, they could talk telepathically, they shared pain, and they could share knowledge. I knew two Jedi here, Zekk and Jaina, who started talking in the plural and constantly felt the urge to kriff. It's a lottery as far as what the side effects could be."

"Trever and I had a bond -it broke- but we had one." He looks wistful. "It was nice." Someone has been very lonely. "But I've handled a bond like that before and was able to keep my sense of self."

"My sense of self isn't quite up to scratch." Pause. Smirk. "You may need t'be gentle with me."

He smirks back. "I thought you didn't like it gentle?"
