Atton staggered upstairs, singing something which sounded suspiciously like a drinking song, one arm around Aeryn's shoulders to keep himself standing, the other clutching a bottle of Tarisian Ale. He shouldered open the door to his room, kicking it closed and giggling, slightly insanely.
"This is my room. I apologise for the mess."

Aeryn would have choked on her drink if she hadn't finished it.

She was feeling slightly wicked tonight.

"Really?" She queried with a grin, turning round.

"Yep." He grins, leaning towards her and brushing his lips against hers. Don't mind him, he's as drunk as a skunk, even if it isn't showing right now.

Aeryn leant into the kiss, shaking more than she realised before pulling away.

"Lets just put that down to a moment of drunken craziness shall we?"

She was feeling distinctly drunk herself.

Atton nodded sagely, if slightly unstably.
"Yes. That's it. However, I am a very drunk and crazy person." With that, he leaned in and kissed her again.

He's so, so, going to regret that in the morning.

Aeryn was prepared this time. It was still a huge shock though. She hadn't kissed anyone since...since...Crichton.

Yet here she was betraying his memory and enjoying it.

She pulled away from Atton gently, her hands still resting on his arms.

"What are we doing?"

Her head was becoming more fuzzy with each minute, what with the combination of alcohol and confusion.

"I'm not entirely sure actually," Atton said. "I think it involves drunken crazyness, which isn't so good, and kissing, which is so good. I'm not sure whether it's good or not." One of life's great mysteries, it would seem.

"Yes so it would seem."

She was having enormous trouble not kissing him again.

She had taken infinite care not touch him before and she was feeling slightly unsteady.

Atton nodded sagely.
"Yes, I think we need to try it again, just to get a definitive opinion on it." At which point he kissed her again.

He's so, so, so going to regret that in the morning.

Aeryn knows Atton to well for his own good.

That doesn't stop her kissing him back for several more minutes before stopping again.

"If we don't stop..."

She paused

"You are going to regret it at some point and probably never speak to me again."

"I'm pretty sure that's not going to happen," Atton said, sounding quite sure of himself. "Who'd I have to irritate if I wasn't speaking to you?" He grinned, leaning in to kiss her again.

So, so, so, so going to regret it in the morning. The mun may not stop saying that. Ever.

Aeryn put her hands up to his chest to push him away and somehow nothing happened.

The soldier, who'd been so strong, was suddenly just another pathetic woman.

Atton would have objected to that statement, except that he couldn't read minds yet and was a bit busy anyway.

As it is, he simply continued to kiss her, easing her down onto her back.

Aeryn kissed back, reluctant to put her arms around him, but enjoying it very much. Her brain seemed to be in a kind of stuck mode.

Atton broke the kiss for a moment, to breath. He took the chance to remark, sounding even more slurred than he did before.
"We're a bit overdressed, aren't we?"

Aeryn's eyes widened with fright. Not that she hadn't had many casual sexual encounters before, but she'd suddenly became aware that this was Atton.

"Atton, I..."

Her tongue didn't seem to be working properly.

Atton, despite being so drunk he'd be hard pressed to tell you his name and where he was, was still surprisingly observant.

"Is there something wrong?"

"I don't think we should do this."

The feeling of his body pressed against hers was surprisingly nice. She didn't want to not do it.

"Would this by any chance be because I'm drunk?" The way he said it, he might have been talking about the weather.

"Yes. I have suspicions about my own mindset too."

She hadn't moved. Despite her words.

"Hm," Atton wasn't good with personal conversations when sober. When drunk he was hopeless. "I'm really enjoying this? I think I'd enjoy it if I was sober too."

Aeryn couldn't help but grin.

"That's because you're a male tralk and I'm probably the first woman to resist your ale laden charms."

"That's not fair!" Atton exclaimed. "Alright, alright. How about we don't frack like gizka, and instead go to sleep, and then see how we feel when sober?" It's a surprisingly sensible thing to suggest for one as drunk as Atton.

"Or we could just forget about the consequences till tomorrow morning." He much preferred that idea.

Aeryn gave a small smile. She was sorely tempted by the second choice.

"I think...the sleep might be a better idea."

"Fair enough." He doesn't sound well-chuffed, but rolls off her anyway and wraps an arm round her, quickly falling off to sleep.

Aeryn is surprised but impressed by his quick agreeance, it is slightly disturbing how quickly he falls asleep. She prods him to make sure he is really asleep.
