[OOM] Taris, the Labyrinth, the Undercity.

At first, it might seem like they're outside, on a very murky night. There's grass, after all, even if it is marred by patches of metal.

They're not, though. A longer look reveals that they're inside a vast, underground room, or a huge cavern, large enough to give the impression of being outside, but with the metal and stone ceiling just in view, distantly. There are flickering lights, here and there, but for the most part it's fairly dark.

There's what looks like a town nearby, but to get there requires traversing a rather difficult looking stretch of slopes, high rocks, half-built walls and rushing rivers.

"Aye. We'll find a way out."

A loud, distant roar makes Atton arch an eyebrow, slightly, looking around.

"Yeah, let's move fast," he decides, heading through the maze of rocks again.

Guppy sticks close to Atton and Will, holding his weapons again.

"What was that?"

"Dinna worry 'bout it 'less we see it, just keep movin'."

"Yeah. Just keep an eye out."

"May be just a speaker with a roaring noise." Guppy says, more enthusiastically than he feels.

"Sounded far 'nough way that probably willna bother us for a bit."

"It won't be a speaker. It's never a speaker. How many things have you seen where the distant roaring is just a speaker?"

"I didna understand any o'the words ye just said, Guppy but I'm sure that whate'er it is, we could probably move faster least for now."

"S'medical jargon, probably," Atton says to Will, sagely, as they reach a river.

There are a bunch of small (shoulder-height, on Atton), slimy white things, more or less humanoid, gathered around one part of the river.

"Rakghouls," Atton whispers. "Blasters ready."

Guppy holds the blaster steady.

"Are we going to get trapped between these and the roaring thing?" he asks quietly.

Will aims his blaster and starts firing,

"Nay, we're na."

"Not if we kill them and go by, Guppy," Atton says, a little wearily, unholstering his blasters and opening fire. A couple of rakghouls fall, and three more scatter, rebounding off rocks to come ambling towards them, snarling.

Guppy shoots quickly at the ones coming towards them.

He'll apologise for asking stupid questions later, for now, he's exhausted and stressed out and just needs these things to die.

Will just focuses on firing, quicker these things die, the sooner escape will be possible.

Two rakghouls fall. As the third leaps towards them, teeth out, Atton unsheathes his sword, slices through it, cleans off the blade and resheaths it.

Opening his eyes and taking a deep breath, Atton starts wading through the river. It only comes up to his waist.

Guppy follows, keeping one hand on Atton's sleeve and a close eye on Will in case there's a sudden deep bit or strong current.

Will follows after, not holstering his blaster yet and trying to move as quickly as possible through the water.

Atton clambers out the other end, shakes himself off, and looks around.

"We're close. Can you two smell that?"

There are a lot of smells in the Undercity. Grass. Sewage. Static electricity.

"I can smell something." Guppy says, looking nervously around.

"Aye."

Will gets out of the water and towards where Atton's sniffing.

"That," pause. For lack of an appropriate word, Atton just waves one hand, "smell?"

"I don't know what it is, if that's what you're asking." Guppy says. "Your sense of smell is much better than mine."

"'opefully its a good smell well mean isna but a good sign."
