They have all of an hour to get up, shower, have breakfast and get ready before Atton is rushing off, yelling back at Will and Guppy about how they should start making tracks.

Five minutes later, they arrive in the hangar bay, and Atton starts looking around for their snowspeeders. He's a little miffed when he sees what they have instead.

Furry animals, about halfway between mammal and flightless bird, with reins and harnesses.

"I thought we were getting snowspeeders, not tauntauns," he protests.

The Jedi he's talking to shakes their head, sadly. "Snowspeeders are all broken."

Will grips Atton rather tightly as they go down,

"Guess that works."

"No, Guppy, we fell. It's like flying, just in the opposite direction," Atton replies, letting go of them and heading down one of the tunnels. "Be on your guards."

"But we didn't go smush." Guppy says. "Which normally happens with falling."

He gets his stun gun ready and follows Atton. He can hear something, very quietly, not quite touching his conscious thought yet.

But if he paid attention, it would sound like the beat of drums.

"I like not going smush." he adds.

"Oh aye, an can get up the same way?"

There's the sense of age and someone watching so Will keeps looking around, trying to figure out who's there.

"Yeah. I can just grab you and jump," Atton replies.

[guppy_sandhu]

The drums beat that little bit louder, touching Guppy's consciousness. He listens to it, looking around, wondering if it's actually drums or just something in the cave vibrating or dripping or something.

When Will hears a dog howling he freezes,

"We the only ones 'ere?"

"Not necessarily," Atton notes, sniffing the air. "But I can't smell anyone else."

Guppy looks around.

"Can you hear it too?" he asks, meaning the drums.

It's not just drums now, there's a guitar filtering in.

Since Will thinks Guppy's talking about the dog he nods,

"Oh aye."

Pause.

"No, I can't."

[guppy_sandhu]

"It's music..." Guppy looks in the direction of the sound, as a violin joins the mix.
"One day the artist said
Lets try rock and roll
And people danced the night away
With music in their soul..."
He has an entranced look on his face, and takes a few steps towards it.

"Nay, isna."

Will puts his hand on Guppy's arm,

"Dinna leave."

Atton opens his mouth to say that visions can't hurt them, then closes it again before he can.

After all, they're in an underground, mazelike set of ruins. Visions can't hurt them, but that doesn't mean that following them won't lead them to things that can.

He sets a hand on Guppy's shoulder.

Guppy doesn't move forward, but he does stare intently at the sound.

"But soon there were the ones,
Just used it to get high...
It's time to break the needle,
You'll see we'll still get by..."

He grimaces. The tune is good, but the lyrics read like they were written by a teenager.

And then he sees a teenager. And he gasps, recognising the familiar mop of dark curls. And his immediate thought is that he's about to see something horrible happen to what is presumably his son...

So Will squeezes his shoulder,

"Guppy, what is it?"

Atton waves a hand in front of his eyes, experimentally.

Guppy doesn't blink. He doesn't even see the hand.

In front of him, Fry is joined by two other boys, one on the drums and one on the violin. They launch into the chorus, Fry leaning forward into the microphone as he lets the guitar roar.

"We may have got detention,
But you can't destroy the song,
The record needle's broken,
But the music lingers on.
And it's not about sex and it's not about drugs
And the music's everything to us
Broken needles... broken needles..."

The music leads into an interlude, but fades quietly into the background. Fry puts down the guitar, and walks right up to Guppy. He grins at him, looking like he's going to hug him, but instead putting his hand out for a high five.

Guppy smiles slightly, and reaches forward to give it. As his hand touches Fry's, the vision fades, and he finally blinks and looks around at the others.

Seeing Guppy reach out is worrying but Will doesn't know what to do and gives a worried glance to Atton.

Guppy doesn't seem distressed, which is good.

Atton gives him a shake.
"You okay, there?"

Guppy jumps, then looks at Atton, then nods.

"...Yeah, I think so. Feel a bit funny."

"Aye, good, dinna wish to lose ye."

Now Will can hear the dogs again and he looks away from the direction they're coming from.

Atton's eyes flick over to Will, before he shrugs and starts walking again.

"We can't let these visions lead us around. We don't want to get lost."

"My son looks like he might be cooler than me." Guppy says, dazedly. "Or not, depending how his lyrics go down."

He rubs his forehead.

"I'm sorry for getting sidetracked. I... I couldn't see or hear either of you."

Will's just nodding and trying very hard to keep his attention on Atton and what he's saying as the dogs keep sounding louder and closer.
