(no subject)

So, Atton's no longer feeling disorientated. He's starting to walk better.

New problems have arisen, though. Atton has been alternating between feeling freezing and feeling like he's burning up. It started rather abruptly, and it isn't very pleasant.

Right now, he's freezing. Thus, he's wandering around his room, shirtless and barefoot but with a thick blanket draped over his shoulders, shivering.

It's quite low, really.

"Alright. Just sort of having temperature problems. It'll pass."

"Are any of your wounds infected?" Guppy asks, concerned. "You feel a bit hot."

"Don't think they are. Been feeling hot and cold all day."

[guppy_sandhu]

"That's because you're running a fever." Guppy says, tucking the blanket around him. "Do you know what's causing it?"

Might as well ask.

"Withdrawal? I've been on quite an impressive selection of drugs and poisons for several months now, after all."

[guppy_sandhu]

"That would fit." Giving Atton a gentle hug. "In which case there's nothing I can give you for it, sorry."

"Don't worry about it." Atton replies. "They came on pretty suddenly, so maybe they'll pass quickly, too."

"All right, but if you feel worse send for me, okay?"

"Yeah. Will do."

"How are you otherwise?"

"Powerless, tired, bedbound and aching. How d'you think?" Irritably.

"Sorry. At least you're up and about. Can I help?"

"Not really." Atton grumbles.

"Sorry." Guppy says quietly.

"Did someone upset you?" he adds gently.

"No." Atton replies, waving a hand.

"You sure?"

"Certain."

[guppy_sandhu]

"Okay then." Guppy says quietly.

"Would you like to go downstairs for a bit? I can help you if you need it."

"I'm fine up here for the moment. Went outside a while ago."

"Oh that's good." Guppy says, smiling slightly. "Getting a bit of fresh air I mean."

Sensing Atton doesn't want to talk about illness the whole time, he adds.

"My stepfather isn't a criminal by the way. He's just pretending to be one."

"... Why?"

"He works for the police."

Atton rolls his eyes.
"Great. A policeman."

"It could be worse. He could be trying to raid my department with armed men and steal drugs."

Atton just wrinkles his nose.
"I don't like policemen. They're either incompetent or brutal."
