[OOM] Festival of the Red Snow.

Atton takes Guppy out onto the surface of Kazic III, into a large settlement the centre of which seems to be almost completely taken up by a festival. Which means merchants lining every street with stalls, tents for fortune-tellers, a performance going on at one end of the city centre (it appears to be the story of a particularly bloody war, represented with physical theatre by some very athletic dancers) and a stage at the other end which is currently not being used, judging by the burly men socialising and posturing at each other on it.

Atton's dressed up warm, because even though it's the warm season, it's still Kazic III, which makes it about as cold as a Scottish winter.

Guppy wraps his hastily grabbed scarf around himself.

"It's nippy." he comments.

"I dunno, seems pretty warm to me. Here," he taps Guppy on the shoulder, heating up the air around him.

"Thanks." Guppy smirks. "Nice gratuitous abuse of forceypowers."

He looks around.

"What play is that?"

"Oh, it's telling the story of the War of Red Snows. When we first settled on this planet, we awoke three servants of one of the Things beneath the ground. When those three came to the planet, there was a rather long and bloody war with them, which we won."

"I guess people don't tend to make plays about wars they lost." Guppy says.

He glances over at the other stage.

"That one I'm guessing isn't the 'Knobbly knees' contest."

"Ha, no. They're warriors, they're just posturing at each other until the tournament starts," Atton laughs.

"I always found the toughest opponants were the ones who didn't need to posture." Guppy says.

"Heeeey, I posture plenty."

"Yeah, but you don't need to." Guppy says, grinning at him. "You can be pretty scary without."

Atton grinned back. "That's true and all."

"So... how could I come across more scary?"

Atton laughed. "Just stand up straight and be confident."

"I'll try." Guppy laughs. "I mean, I'm taller than I look."

"That's true," Atton says.

"So, what's the plan?" Guppy asks.

"Well, if you want to go take part in the tournament, I brought the Cube," Atton says, "although I doubt you need it."

"Hm, probably technically cheating. I can go all out if I know you're able to fix me up afterwards though, so yeah, I might not need it."

"Yeah, I can fix you up."

"Okay. You gonna have a go?"

"Nah, not this time."

"Okay." Guppy nods.

"I've found a bit of time for practice lately, so I shouldn't be in too bad shape."

He glances around at a rather shady looking character, who seems to be keeping them in his sights.

"Don't look now, but I think that guy's thinking of robbing you. More fool him..."

"I'd like to see him try," Atton says wryly.

"Maybe we should let him try, might give us a chance to spook the opposition before the tournament."

"What do you reckon, I lure him and then we kick arse?"
