OOM: Atton and Fett.

The ring on Atton's ship looks like it's undergone a renovation of sorts - though the faint smell of ozone in the air suggests this was probably not out of choice on Atton's part. Atton leads Fett in.

"So, what should we set the prize money at this time?" Atton asks, fiddling about with a console by the lockers. "My opening bid is twenty-five thousand credits."

That, naturally, sends Fett staggering backwards as one luckily-timed punch knocks Fett off his balance for a second. He recovers alright, but he's decidedly on the defensive as Atton presses his advantage right back.

[identity profile] stuck-mynock.livejournal.com 2011-05-28 02:05 am (UTC)(link)
Atton tries to press it with something a bit outside his expertise. Atton's always been more of a kickboxer than anything else, which is why he's presuming that breaking from that might catch Fett off-guard.

He charges at Fett, ducking his head and moving to get his arms around Fett, one about his back and one around his leg and lift him up. It's a little clumsy, but if he succeeds he fully intends to slam Fett down onto the ground.

[identity profile] mandalorianheir.livejournal.com 2011-05-28 02:08 am (UTC)(link)
Fett is good at a lot of things, but he has so few opponents that he regularly fights (ok, he's probably had two in his lifetime) that he's a bit rusty on getting "house trained" to face their particular style. So when Atton shifts styles, it throws him pretty badly, and though he recovers...it's only in time to try and drag Atton down into a heap with him rather than to avoid the attack entirely.

[identity profile] stuck-mynock.livejournal.com 2011-05-28 02:21 am (UTC)(link)
He manages, at least, to drag Atton down. But Atton just uses it to straddle Fett's stomach and start throwing punches at his face.

[identity profile] mandalorianheir.livejournal.com 2011-05-28 02:32 am (UTC)(link)
Again? Haven't we been in this position before?

Somehow, Fett's reaction to getting punched in the face like this is...well, more nonplussed than anything. He takes a few of the punches as Atton settles in before hurling a punch at Atton's gut. Just because he's on the ground doesn't mean he can't mix this up a bit.

[identity profile] stuck-mynock.livejournal.com 2011-05-28 02:40 am (UTC)(link)
The punches stop as Atton doubles over, placing his hands on the floor on either side of Fett's head to steady himself.

[identity profile] mandalorianheir.livejournal.com 2011-05-28 03:13 am (UTC)(link)
Fett takes advantage of the reprieve to throw a shot at Atton's chest...and then one at his chin, moving up his body. After all, Atton was so nice to bring his head into range...

[identity profile] stuck-mynock.livejournal.com 2011-05-28 03:15 am (UTC)(link)
There's a crack of ribs breaking as the punch hits Atton's chest, and he reels backwards - but he's not fast enough to stop the punch hitting his chin and sending him sprawling onto his back.

[identity profile] mandalorianheir.livejournal.com 2011-05-28 03:24 am (UTC)(link)
That lets Fett get up and take a moment to recover from the pummeling he took while on the ground...which in turn likely lets the rib-cracked Jedi on the floor also recover.

[identity profile] stuck-mynock.livejournal.com 2011-05-28 03:36 am (UTC)(link)
Sure enough, Atton's back on his feet by the time Fett's up, hands raised.

[identity profile] mandalorianheir.livejournal.com 2011-05-28 03:42 am (UTC)(link)
Fett naturally offers an approving grin to Atton when the latter gets right back up...and while feinting, decides to let Atton lead off the next round (for a change).

[identity profile] stuck-mynock.livejournal.com 2011-05-28 03:47 am (UTC)(link)
Atton grins back, dodging the feints (he winces a little whenever he dodges left, but that's to be expected) and throwing a few of his own before aiming a kick at Fett's side.

[identity profile] mandalorianheir.livejournal.com 2011-05-28 11:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Fett grunts (audibly) at the kick, which bruises a rib. Nothing broken (yet), but there's going to be a nasty, colorful mark there when this is all done. His response, however, is to start forcing Atton to dodge left more often.

[identity profile] stuck-mynock.livejournal.com 2011-05-29 12:31 am (UTC)(link)
You wily bastard Atton thinks, but doesn't say, as he dodges left more often, wincing each time.

Once or twice he stumbles to the side as he dodges left.

[identity profile] mandalorianheir.livejournal.com 2011-05-29 12:46 am (UTC)(link)
Gotcha!

Fett is now certain that the sound he heard when he punched Atton earlier wasn't his imagination...so, after a little bit of time forcing Atton into painful dodges, Fett throws another punch...at the same spot he nailed Atton with the earlier, rib-cracking punch.

And yes, there might just be a smug grin on his face as he plans it to give away what he intends to do.

[identity profile] stuck-mynock.livejournal.com 2011-05-29 12:50 am (UTC)(link)
Atton does see it coming, and blocks, before moving in with a punch at Fett's gut.

[identity profile] mandalorianheir.livejournal.com 2011-05-29 05:12 am (UTC)(link)
That punch connects, which probably results in both guys wincing to varying degrees as the fight continues: Atton gets a reprieve as he knocks the wind out of Fett, but Fett is back in the mix soon enough, putting Atton through as much pain as possible with those feints.

[identity profile] stuck-mynock.livejournal.com 2011-05-29 05:22 am (UTC)(link)
Bastard.

Again, Atton doesn't say it. He just keeps dodging left when he has to, grimacing and stumbling more each time.

[identity profile] mandalorianheir.livejournal.com 2011-05-29 05:32 am (UTC)(link)
Which Fett is content to keep taking advantage of for a couple of moments. Still...where's the fun in simply wearing your opponent out if you can be a bit more spectacular? Fett aims again for the cracked rib...but this time, he doesn't give off a warning like he did the last time: He just comes in hard and fast.

[identity profile] stuck-mynock.livejournal.com 2011-05-29 05:38 am (UTC)(link)
Without the warning, Atton doesn't block in time.

The punch hits Atton's side and he practically howls in pain, grabbing the ropes for support as his legs buckle.

[identity profile] mandalorianheir.livejournal.com 2011-05-29 05:41 am (UTC)(link)
A howl of pain is not, however, a concession...it is merely an opening. Atton might notice a nice upcut coming in a moment later.

[identity profile] stuck-mynock.livejournal.com 2011-05-29 05:43 am (UTC)(link)
The ropes don't offer much in the way of give, so the upcut sends Atton's head snapping back before he slumps forward again, steadying his legs and trying to push off from the ropes and throw a punch at Fett's eye.

[identity profile] mandalorianheir.livejournal.com 2011-05-29 05:46 am (UTC)(link)
Fett dodges the punch easily, but misjudges the angle, meaning that Atton still manages to clip the side of his face. Another punch is promptly incoming, this time generically at Atton's gut.

[identity profile] stuck-mynock.livejournal.com 2011-05-29 05:53 am (UTC)(link)
When you're as battered as Atton is, a punch to the gut, while expected, is still pretty devastating.

Atton doubles over as the wind is knocked out of him, crumpling to his knees.

[identity profile] mandalorianheir.livejournal.com 2011-06-03 02:36 am (UTC)(link)
Atton is neither unconscious (well, yet) nor crying uncle...so after about a second-long pause, Fett throws another punch at the other fighter's chin.
