OOM: Atton and Fett.

The ring on Atton's ship looks like it's undergone a renovation of sorts - though the faint smell of ozone in the air suggests this was probably not out of choice on Atton's part. Atton leads Fett in.

"So, what should we set the prize money at this time?" Atton asks, fiddling about with a console by the lockers. "My opening bid is twenty-five thousand credits."

Atton hops up to the platform, waiting until Fett is up there and then tapping one of the posts at the corners. The familiar orange energy ropes form around them, making a square.

[identity profile] mandalorianheir.livejournal.com 2011-05-23 03:04 am (UTC)(link)
Once Fett is in the ring, he pokes at the ropes, just checking how much "give" there is in them this time.

"So, do you want first swing? It might make this an even match."

Of course he feels the need to imply insecurity...it's only fitting after Atton's pre-match 'offer'.

[identity profile] stuck-mynock.livejournal.com 2011-05-23 03:10 am (UTC)(link)
There isn't a lot. They don't have much give in them, but there's a fair bit of bounce.

Atton laughs. He was intending to make the first move, try to gain the upper hand immediately. But he can't let something like that slide.

So instead, he scraps that plan and opens his arms wide, gesturing at himself. "Show me what you've got, Bobbers." He isn't even in a fighting stance yet.

[identity profile] mandalorianheir.livejournal.com 2011-05-23 03:28 am (UTC)(link)
Fett grins...and suddenly lashes out with a punch combo. Since Atton asked...well, he's not going to pass up something that wide open, now, is he?

[identity profile] stuck-mynock.livejournal.com 2011-05-23 03:38 am (UTC)(link)
Well. Nobody ever accused Atton of being overly bright. He does realise how bad an idea it was, though, a little too late.

He tries to block - but his arms are too high, and the punches slam into his gut with enough force to knock the air out of him, make him double over and, with his centre of gravity off from not being in a fighting stance, one leg to buckle so that he drops down onto one knee, one arm hitting the floor to support himself.

[identity profile] mandalorianheir.livejournal.com 2011-05-23 03:50 am (UTC)(link)
Fett lashes out with a kick aimed at Atton's face once the latter goes down, putting an arm out to support his body. The advantage is such that Fett feels like pressing the hell out of it while he has the chance...Atton will be back to normal soon enough, after all.

[identity profile] stuck-mynock.livejournal.com 2011-05-23 03:54 am (UTC)(link)
Atton goes reeling onto his back with a grunt, nose and mouth bleeding.

[identity profile] mandalorianheir.livejournal.com 2011-05-23 04:54 am (UTC)(link)
Fett presses the advantage for the moment, leaning over to put Atton (in his current, bloody mess state) in a sleeper hold. Finishing round one so quickly, though?

This feels way too easy.

[identity profile] stuck-mynock.livejournal.com 2011-05-23 04:58 am (UTC)(link)
Atton struggles, even as his vision goes blurry, grabbing Fett's arm with both of his own and, with effort, pulling it away.

[identity profile] mandalorianheir.livejournal.com 2011-05-23 05:04 am (UTC)(link)
Fett offers something of a farewell punch as Atton breaks free. It's not much, but he's at least hoping to make sure Atton has trouble making a clean recovery.

[identity profile] stuck-mynock.livejournal.com 2011-05-23 05:14 am (UTC)(link)
Atton takes it with a grunt, and rolls away, getting to his feet.

[identity profile] mandalorianheir.livejournal.com 2011-05-25 07:24 am (UTC)(link)
So they're more or less back to start...which means that Fett is going to go on the offensive again. This time, his punches are mixed with a couple of feints to keep Atton off-balance, but about every third one is a 'real' punch.

[identity profile] stuck-mynock.livejournal.com 2011-05-25 07:30 am (UTC)(link)
Atton blocks and dodges, but the fact that he's kept off-balance means he never gets a chance to retaliate, instead being forced backwards.

[identity profile] mandalorianheir.livejournal.com 2011-05-25 08:13 am (UTC)(link)
Fett presses the advantage...and eventually over-extends, letting a fist get out too far in a feint here or letting a punch go too long without being retracted there.

[identity profile] stuck-mynock.livejournal.com 2011-05-25 09:41 am (UTC)(link)
The third time this happens, Atton takes advantage of it, moving to push Fett's arm aside and deliver a vicious series of punches to his face and gut.

[identity profile] mandalorianheir.livejournal.com 2011-05-28 01:56 am (UTC)(link)
That, naturally, sends Fett staggering backwards as one luckily-timed punch knocks Fett off his balance for a second. He recovers alright, but he's decidedly on the defensive as Atton presses his advantage right back.

[identity profile] stuck-mynock.livejournal.com 2011-05-28 02:05 am (UTC)(link)
Atton tries to press it with something a bit outside his expertise. Atton's always been more of a kickboxer than anything else, which is why he's presuming that breaking from that might catch Fett off-guard.

He charges at Fett, ducking his head and moving to get his arms around Fett, one about his back and one around his leg and lift him up. It's a little clumsy, but if he succeeds he fully intends to slam Fett down onto the ground.

[identity profile] mandalorianheir.livejournal.com 2011-05-28 02:08 am (UTC)(link)
Fett is good at a lot of things, but he has so few opponents that he regularly fights (ok, he's probably had two in his lifetime) that he's a bit rusty on getting "house trained" to face their particular style. So when Atton shifts styles, it throws him pretty badly, and though he recovers...it's only in time to try and drag Atton down into a heap with him rather than to avoid the attack entirely.

[identity profile] stuck-mynock.livejournal.com 2011-05-28 02:21 am (UTC)(link)
He manages, at least, to drag Atton down. But Atton just uses it to straddle Fett's stomach and start throwing punches at his face.

[identity profile] mandalorianheir.livejournal.com 2011-05-28 02:32 am (UTC)(link)
Again? Haven't we been in this position before?

Somehow, Fett's reaction to getting punched in the face like this is...well, more nonplussed than anything. He takes a few of the punches as Atton settles in before hurling a punch at Atton's gut. Just because he's on the ground doesn't mean he can't mix this up a bit.

[identity profile] stuck-mynock.livejournal.com 2011-05-28 02:40 am (UTC)(link)
The punches stop as Atton doubles over, placing his hands on the floor on either side of Fett's head to steady himself.

[identity profile] mandalorianheir.livejournal.com 2011-05-28 03:13 am (UTC)(link)
Fett takes advantage of the reprieve to throw a shot at Atton's chest...and then one at his chin, moving up his body. After all, Atton was so nice to bring his head into range...

[identity profile] stuck-mynock.livejournal.com 2011-05-28 03:15 am (UTC)(link)
There's a crack of ribs breaking as the punch hits Atton's chest, and he reels backwards - but he's not fast enough to stop the punch hitting his chin and sending him sprawling onto his back.

[identity profile] mandalorianheir.livejournal.com 2011-05-28 03:24 am (UTC)(link)
That lets Fett get up and take a moment to recover from the pummeling he took while on the ground...which in turn likely lets the rib-cracked Jedi on the floor also recover.

[identity profile] stuck-mynock.livejournal.com 2011-05-28 03:36 am (UTC)(link)
Sure enough, Atton's back on his feet by the time Fett's up, hands raised.
