"Position the capital ships behind the blockade," Atton's saying into an earpiece as he checks his weapons. "Keep the Basilisks and fighters ready. When the ships jump in, we'll do hit and run attacks. Is there any way to set up an ion charge on the other side of the blockade?"

Tapping it again.

"Is the throne room locked down? Good. Keep on establishing containment fields for the Sky Ramp, and empty the ciy."

It's been a busy day.

This is it, this is what he's been training for for the last two or three years. To stand by his friends and do them proud, to keep himself and them alive.

Though an interplanetary war wasn't quite what he had in mind.

Will has made sure his blade is honed and as Atton has been organizing, he's been moving among all the men making sure things are working out properly.

Atton taps his earpiece again.

"War droids, do we have them ready? If we do, position them at the front of the sky ramp." Pause. "Guppy, can you shoot a gun?"

"... in theory? I've never actually tried?"

Guppy comes up to Atton and adds quietly.

"At, are we going to be shooting at real people this time? I'm not going to freak out, I mean, I know it's life or death and them or us but I'd rather know in advance so I can mentally prepare."

"Tis simpler than usin' a sword 'specially with blasters 'stead o'guns like Doc uses."

"Also, you don't have to get up close. Will, show Guppy how t'shoot, will you?" Atton says. "I think it's going to be armour-zombies again, don't worry."

Guppy nods, relieved.

"Does the Sith have anyone living working for them any more?"

Will picks up two blasters and starts searching for an empty place to shoot,

"Think we can use o'er 'ere as a range."

"Well, the last faction I came across was Bob's, and he used predominantly droids, so they do seem to have an employment problem."

"Heh, the Sith Army, thousands of manufactured soldiers under three or four insane guys with small penises."

Guppy follows Will.

"I've used a blaster once." he says. "Without shooting myself."

"Good just a matter o'makin' sure ye 'it who ye want to."

"You do seem to have a fascination with the contents of people's trousers, lately, Guppy," Atton remarks, before tapping his earpiece again. "Hey, are the turbolasers up and running? Great, great."

"I'm sorry, I'm using crude humour as a means of relieving tension." Guppy says to Atton, taking the blaster and aiming it at the target.

Will nods and fires at the target next to Guppy's.

Solemnly: "I thought you were just insecure. Or frustrated. Or both."

Guppy concentrates on his aim.

"I was perhaps implying that evil supervillains are compensating for something."

"Oh aye probably are. Could always taunt 'im 'bout that."

Dryly: "I wouldn't advise it."

"What, because fighting a war against him won't have already pissed him off?"

"Dinna wish 'im angry at ye in particular."

"Yeah. See, Will is sensible. I won't shove him."

"Hm, true." Guppy says. "I wasn't planning to say it to him personally."

Guppy nods.

"I think I have the hang of this." he says, shooting rather a bit off target.

Sarcastically: "Oh, clearly. Just point and shoot, seriously."

"Aye, though best to aim for their 'eads or weapons, will slow 'em down."

"All right, I'm getting it!"

"Aye, will do just fine an safer to fire these least at the start."

Guppy nods.

"How long do we have?"

"Not long. We don't know if by a day, they meant exactly a day or just approximately, so we'll just have to be ready to get into position if they jump out of hyperspace."

Atton taps a few buttons, examining a rather complicated display that appears.

Absently: "Oh, and remember, their armour is adaptive against energy weapons. We may not get many shots in before we have to try to get close and use swords."

"Aye, should make sure to make 'em count."

"Do we have any other projectile weapons?"

"Aye an 'onestly if we're fightin' 'em 'ere, all we can do is 'ope its the last o''em."

Guppy nods, staring worriedly up into the sky.

There's a ringing from Atton's earpiece. He taps it, briefly.

After a few moments of listening: "Prep the droids, get them into position at the foot of the Sky Ramp. Make sure all the security turrets in the city are active, then clear your men out of there and activate the mines. Keep your ships inside the blockade, only send fighters and Basilisks through."

Tapping it again and turning to Guppy and Will.

"Speak of the devil - the Wyrm and company have just dropped out of hyperspace. Get ready."
