When Atton opens his eyes, he hasn't got his sword, and he's wearing a wide-brimmed hat, a billowing coat, and a whole lot of black.

Thoughtfully: "Huh."

They're in a garden of some sort, filled with statues, fountains, and plants, with a forest and a massive city in the distance. A lot of people are milling around, all in dress from a variety of different time periods.

Atton thinks about this, a moment.

"Huh."

"And you two should go first, that way if we're way out of our league, we can pull out before the only healer on the team gets squished."

"Yeah. Though we do have those Resurrection Thingies."

"Aye but should probably save 'em in case there's somethin' worse comin'."

"Yeah, those should be for like, actual danger."

"It's a game, we can't die. What actual danger is there?"

"Na sure, let's just try this fight first."

"How do you know we can't die? Remember Brand of Amber?"

"... How is that at all similar?"

"Mean its a sort o'game, aye so its na like goin' to a whole 'nother world."

"Just be careful." Guppy says, nodding for one of them to start.

"No, no, no, I really want t'know how you thought this was similar to the whole Brand of Amber stuff," Atton says, stopping. "They're," nodding at the distant figures, "not going anywhere, we can wait. I mean, they are, but not fast."

"Oh aye an we'll be others too."

"A dream should not be able to hurt a person." Guppy says. "But they did. A game should not be able to hurt a person, but just because the theory is solid in one world doesn't mean it is in another. For one thing, we shouldn't be able to be in the game."

"Wasn't the Brand of Amber stuff an entirely different debacle to the Killer Dreams stuff? I mean, it is kinda hard to keep track of all the incredibly bloody and seemingly unescapable plights we seem to go through ..."

"Aye, was that 'ospital place that made the dreams that 'urt."

[guppy_sandhu]

There is a long pause whilst Guppy attempts to recalibrate his brain, and fails.

"I spend half my life trying to block out all that shit." he says. "So I may be mistaken. But in any case, I mean the dreams thing."

"That was magical, though. It'll be fine. I suppose being careful can't hurt, though. Maybe we should just leave them be?" Nodding at the distant players.

"We'll walk by 'em, can just see what 'appens."

Guppy nods, giving Atton a small approving smile at his unusual agreed caution.

"Maybe we could swagger. I do a good swagger. Guppy is very swaggery."

"Aye, best way to go just see what 'appens."

[guppy_sandhu]

"I'm not sure I know how to swagger." Guppy says, swaggering.

"Then you should try harder! More swaggering, Guppy, more."

Will just grins,

"Think ye've got it, Guppy."

"This is probably a contributer to arthritis." Guppy says.
