Atton's sat on some boxes, swinging his legs. He's given Guppy a wooden sword.

"So, show us what you can do."

"It's blunt, you won't be injuring yourself with it. I'll give you a sharp one when we reach Tython."

Guppy unsheaths the sword. He feels like he ought to have some sort of catch phrase, his 'Flame on' or 'It's clobbering time' equivalent.

But he can't think of one at the moment, so he just unsheathes the sword and does some slashy stabby movements with it.

Will just grins,

"Oh aye, ye'll do fine with it."

"I've given you a fairly short sword, just 'cause it's lighter and easier to control."

Atton hops to his feet, picking up his sword.

"Hit me."

Guppy hesitates.

"Will it hurt you?"

"Just a bruise an Atton can 'andle that, I'll spar with ye after."

"If you can hit me," Atton says, grinning.

Guppy keeps a good distance between them, then lunges forward with a jab.

Atton leans out of the way, flicking one leg about to take advantage of Guppy's forward momentum and try to trip him up.

Guppy brings the sword quickly sideways towards Atton, removing his foot.

Atton blocks it with his sheathed sword, before unsheathing it quickly and slashing down at Guppy's shoulder.

He'll stop before it reaches Guppy, if he has to. After all, it's sharp.

Guppy steps sideways and shoves at Atton's sword with his in a two handed grip.

Atton's sword is shoved upwards, but he brings the sheath around towards Guppy's face.

Guppy ducks and sort of jumps back a few feet, well out of the way.

Atton flicks his sword about, moving closer.

Not so close that he's in Guppy's range, but close enough that Guppy is in his. Longer arms are a longer sword do have their good points.

He feints high, then slashes across at Guppy's ribs.

Guppy steps back just in time for the sword to make a little cut in his clothing, then steps to the side and sends the sword at Atton while his sword is moving the other way.

Atton steps out of the way, dropping down and swinging his sheath at Guppy's ankles.

Guppy jumps the sheath, lunges at Atton, then steps back.

Atton slides out of the way and towards Guppy, sword swinging about at him.

Guppy blocks and steps away.

Atton follows, sword making patterns in the air as he feints and slashes.

Will applauds, "Ye're na dead yet."

Guppy takes another few steps back.

"Can we take a time out please." he says, "I need to ask a question."

Plus he's out of breath. Unfit Guppy is unfit.

Atton flicks his sword about, wiping it off (though the lack of anything on it suggests this is more ritual or habit than anything else) and sheathing it.

"You did well. Didn't die, which is better than when we started," he says, heading back toward the boxes. He's not out of breath at all, it seems. "Go on."

"Drink that."
