[OOM] Visit to Kazic III with Guppy.

The door from Milliways takes them out onto the ramp of Atton's shuttle, outside. It's cold - Colder than the average UK winter - and the sky is a dark purplish colour, as if it's not quite night. Perhaps more noticeable are the (seemingly) fir trees - They're tall, which is to say that the tallest is about a mile high.

Atton gives Guppy a grin, leading him towards the edge of the cliff they're on. There's a city, far beneath - Small by the standards of Atton's galaxy but massive by Earth standards, stone towers and buildings shattered and broken, the ground riddled with craters, all set in a semicircle around a building set into a mountain. While the city shows no signs of being rebuilt and many signs of being abandoned, there are people. They're stood or sat about fires, near less damaged buildings, chattering loudly.

The entranceway is taller than a house, with two equally tall wolf statues either side of it, sitting and looking exceptionally vicious, with blue lights set into them as eyes. They're not Earth wolves - The tails, as long as the body and clearly prehensile, tipped with curved blades - make that pretty clear.

Guppy gets a big grin from Atton.
"'S nice, right? We're a long way from where the Restoration Project has set up. There are just salvagers here."

"I think we can safely say it won't."

"That's okay then. I'm pretty omnivorous."

"Fortunate." As they make their way through the city."

"Well, at home I try and eat stuff that's killed humanely, but that's more a guideline than anything else."

"'S an important guideline." Sagely.

"Yeah, don't want anything brutal."

"'Course you don't." Sagely. "That'd just be bad, right?"

A group of salvagers are in sight, now. They're arranged along the steps to the mountain-doorway, and around the feet of one of the wolf statues, with a fire burning.

"Yeah." Guppy follows Atton's lead, not knowing what salvegers... do.

They salvage!

As they get closer, multiple boxes and old machines can be seen. Atton apparently doesn't think to ask as he drops next to the fire to pick out two long skewers with meat and vegetables on them, and nobody seems to mind him taking them.

Guppy follows the lead, hoping this won't end in a brawl.

He looks up at Atton, wondering if he should strike conversation with the people they just took food from.

Atton doesn't seem to be striking up conversation, but there's nothing from his body language to suggest he would mind.

A skewer is offered to Guppy.

Guppy takes it.

"Thanks." Generally addressed at anyone listening. He tucks in in case they're about to get trampled.

"No problem." One of the men around the fire - Who resembles Atton a fair bit in that he's tall, scruffy, dark haired and fairly light-skinned. "We have plenty."

Guppy smiles, and relaxes a bit.

"It's very good."

"Just nerfmeat. Those that haven't been picked off by the wolves already - Restoration Project did a bad job seeding animal life here."

Guppy isn't sure whether he should ask what happened here.

"The trees are doing well though, it seems."

"The trees," The man notes. "Are doing very well. They're very sturdy."

"Do people build stuff in them?"

"No. Of them, maybe." The man snorts.

"Well I guess they must be a good supply of wood."

"They grow quickly."

Over by one of the stone wolf's paws, Atton finishes off his meal.

Guppy finishes his too, looking to Atton for a lead.

He gets a hair-ruffle as Atton passes.
"Want t'check out the big mountain building? I've never been there."

"Okay." Looking back at the salvegers. "Nice meeting you."

He gets a wave.

Atton grins brightly, wrapping his arm around Guppy's shoulders.
