[OOM] Visit to Kazic III with Guppy.

The door from Milliways takes them out onto the ramp of Atton's shuttle, outside. It's cold - Colder than the average UK winter - and the sky is a dark purplish colour, as if it's not quite night. Perhaps more noticeable are the (seemingly) fir trees - They're tall, which is to say that the tallest is about a mile high.

Atton gives Guppy a grin, leading him towards the edge of the cliff they're on. There's a city, far beneath - Small by the standards of Atton's galaxy but massive by Earth standards, stone towers and buildings shattered and broken, the ground riddled with craters, all set in a semicircle around a building set into a mountain. While the city shows no signs of being rebuilt and many signs of being abandoned, there are people. They're stood or sat about fires, near less damaged buildings, chattering loudly.

The entranceway is taller than a house, with two equally tall wolf statues either side of it, sitting and looking exceptionally vicious, with blue lights set into them as eyes. They're not Earth wolves - The tails, as long as the body and clearly prehensile, tipped with curved blades - make that pretty clear.

Guppy gets a big grin from Atton.
"'S nice, right? We're a long way from where the Restoration Project has set up. There are just salvagers here."

"Hey, it's a good thing. Nobody will suspect the flying camera because the tech doesn't exist."

Atton considers this.
"True, I suppose."

Guppy keeps well away from the long drop as they go down.

"Ani's got a nanny now. Big fierce-looking woman."

The path down is quite thin. Atton keeps himself between Guppy and the drop, one arm securely about his shoulders.
"How is she about letting you see her?"

"Not great. Well it depends who's instructions she's following. My uncle's been no trouble at all since I saved his life and leg, friendly even. Mum wants nothing more to do with me."

The secure arm is helping with the height.

"I've mentioned that your family is very strange, right?"

"You're not that strange." Hair ruffle.

"Apart from me."

"Well Ani's just a baby, she hasn't had time to be strange yet."

"I meant in general, 's no need t'nitpick."

"Sorry." Giving Atton a squeeze. "You're right."

"I always am." Smugly.

"I'd poke you, but the path is narrow."

"'S wise t'wait until we reach the city, then."

"Okay then." Grin.

"What's this city called again?"

"I don't remember the name. Never visited."

"Do they speak the same language?"

"The salvagers should speak Basic. The original inhabitants probably would've spoke it as a second language."

"Is Basic what we're speaking now?"

"Yep."

"Cool. Anything else I should know?"

"Not really. 'S nothing that important t'know at all, really."

"Good."

Guppy enjoys the view.
