So, Atton's no longer feeling disorientated. He's starting to walk better.

New problems have arisen, though. Atton has been alternating between feeling freezing and feeling like he's burning up. It started rather abruptly, and it isn't very pleasant.

Right now, he's freezing. Thus, he's wandering around his room, shirtless and barefoot but with a thick blanket draped over his shoulders, shivering.

"Okay then." Guppy says quietly.

"Would you like to go downstairs for a bit? I can help you if you need it."

"I'm fine up here for the moment. Went outside a while ago."

"Oh that's good." Guppy says, smiling slightly. "Getting a bit of fresh air I mean."

Sensing Atton doesn't want to talk about illness the whole time, he adds.

"My stepfather isn't a criminal by the way. He's just pretending to be one."

"... Why?"

"He works for the police."

Atton rolls his eyes.
"Great. A policeman."

"It could be worse. He could be trying to raid my department with armed men and steal drugs."

Atton just wrinkles his nose.
"I don't like policemen. They're either incompetent or brutal."

"He was a bit rough, certainly. But at least my mother isn't in any danger."

"He's in the former category, then."

"Yeah, but like I said, it could be worse. The raid he's investigating sounds like it could be serious trouble if it isn't stopped."

Atton just snorts.

Oh well. It was a relief to me at least

Guppy fidgets.

Atton wraps the blanket a little tighter around his shoulders.

"Sorry I haven't been good company." Guppy says quietly.

"Don't worry about it. I'm just in a bad mood."

"Wish I could help you feel better." Guppy says quietly.

"Yeah, well. 'S not your responsibility."

"Who said anything about responsibility? I want to help because I like you, not because I have to."

"Mmhmm."

"What's that mean?"

"Very little."

Guppy looks at Atton worriedly, trying to work out what he's done wrong.

Atton gives him a reassuring smile, reaching over to tweak his nose.

Guppy grins and lightly pokes Atton where he's sure there's no bruises.

This takes good aim.
