[OOM] Taris, the Labyrinth, surface.

It's night when they emerge from the lift, with clear skies littered with stars, the majority of which are blocked out.

Up above them, casting a shadow over them, is the vast, distinctive shape of the Wyrm, engines trailingthrough its mass of tentacles, lights gleaming, sharp, spiney legs moving back and forth through the air.

Atton peers at the shape, thoughtfully.

"Well. Kriff."

Guppy passes him the string.

"I don't have a lever."

Will starts looking around for a stick or something to get leverage off.

"There must be something around here."

Guppy picks the string up again and starts making a suitable loop that will tighten as it hooks over the lever whilst they look for a stick.

In one pile of rubble, Will finds a long metal pole,

"This should work."

"Okay. You two set that up, I'll keep watch."

Guppy hooks the string around the stick and tries to hook it around the lever.

Will keeps nearby in case there's trouble from just touching the lever.

Nothing bad seems to happen with the lever, just yet.

Atton sniffs the air, experimentally.

Guppy glances anxiously at Atton, and hooks the string around the lever.

He gives it an experimental tug.

Will just waits, he really hopes nothing's going to happen but that would be rare on this trip.

The gate clicks, then slowly heaves upwards.

Black, armoured feet and a rather battered red cloak come into view, followed by legs, clawlike hands, and finally Enzu Koren's helmet, red lights glowing and flickering.

Atton reaches for his sword, moving back slightly as Koren steps forwards, through the gate, moving towards them sedately. Behind him, numerous Sith soldiers, armoured and with blades out, hurry through the gate behind him.

"It's fortunate," Koren says. "That there's only one gate out of the Labyrinth."

Atton moves forward, sliding between Will and Guppy and Koren.

Guppy drops the stick, stands so that Will and Atton are in range of the protection bubble, and presses the screech on his stun gun.

He doesn't suspect it will help all that much, but it might knock a few hit points off some of the Sith soldiers.

As soon as the Sith appear, Will draws his sword and curses under his breath as he moves to protect Guppy.

Several of the soldiers collapse. The others just tilt their heads, slightly, as gnarly growths form at the sides of their helmets.

Koren reaches a hand down, drawing a lightsaber. It goes skittering out of his hand before he can switch it on, as Atton tosses a knife at it. Koren doesn't seem too bothered. He reaches one hand up to his chest, digging into the armour and drawing out a sword, which by rights should be too long to fit into his chest like that.

Atton frowns.
"Can you two deal with the soldiers?"

"The answer no is not an option." Guppy points out, drawing his sword in one hand and shifting the blaster to the other. He starts shooting at the soldiers whilst they're growing ears.

"Aye, we can."

Will turns and grins at the closest soldier before first firing off a few shots and then drawing his sword.

"Great," Atton says, watching Koren as he starts running towards them. "I'll get out of your way, then."

As Koren gets close, Atton rushes forward, grabbing him and leaping upwards to land on a nearby building - just a small one, but high enough up that they're a reasonable distance from Will, Guppy and the soldiers.

Guppy slashes and shoots at everything that comes near him, except Will, sometimes at the same time.

The soldiers are starting to adapt to the blasters so Will moves in with his sword and is able to cut down a few of them without too much damage. He's aware of how Guppy's doing so if there's a need he can shift to help him.

Up on the building, Koren and Atton are a blur of browns, reds, black and greys, and the occasional crackle of lightning as they fight. For a brief moment, Atton is knocked away, hitting the ground near Guppy and Will. He gives them both a quick grin before leaping up to the building again.

Guppy doesn't have time to grin back, he slices a ninja where the carotid artery would be, blasts at the areas under knees where the artery would flow, and kicks at pressure points when all else fails.

He feels almost detached from his own body, but only in the sense of someone who is drowning. Around him is a pile of groaning, dying or dead people, defeated only by a man's determination to survive for his brothers, wife and baby.

Will gives Atton a nod as he dodges some claws and cuts down another soldier.

Guppy, who has somehow managed by sheer luck to kill most of the zombie soldiers around him, gets jumped on by a persistant straggler. He feels the claws scratch the surface of his abdomen, and rolls with the sword...

He whimpers as he accidentally chops its head off, sending a splurt of blue blood stuff out. Then he scrambles to his feet to get to the next one.

At the sound of Guppy's whimper, Will turns and is slashed in the side before taking down the soldier attacking him.
