The leg-slashed soldier sprays blue liquid, as the armour is cleaved apart to reveal a mass of what appear to be plastic tubes holding a luminescent, bright-blue substance. Exposed muscle can be seen in the spaces between tubes, but the soldier doesn't appear to actually have any skin as such.

One of the other soldiers is knocked back by the explosion, right off the edge of the bridge (no handrails, for shame), whereupon he plummets down quite a way. The fall doesn't seem to faze him, but it does mean he's far, far away.

Lagos takes the chance to dash over to the shuttle, open it, and hurry in.
