(no subject)

So, Atton's no longer feeling disorientated. He's starting to walk better.

New problems have arisen, though. Atton has been alternating between feeling freezing and feeling like he's burning up. It started rather abruptly, and it isn't very pleasant.

Right now, he's freezing. Thus, he's wandering around his room, shirtless and barefoot but with a thick blanket draped over his shoulders, shivering.

"A ship?" Atton grins.

"What kind of a ship?" Sam asks, grinning back.

"One that flies!"

"What did you have in mind?"

"I dunno. Something that flies and is shippy."

Sam snickers. "You're very special, Atton Rand."

He laughs. "I'm glad you're back, y' lanky great git."

"Good. I'm glad t'be back, shortarse."

Sam balances a brick on Atton's head.

And then another brick.

"And when you go back, you'll take me with you?"

"Yes. Just make sure you're around when I want to go."

And another brick.

Firmly, "I will be."

"And if I take you, I'm taking Will, too. Make sure to share with him. If you get the chance to kill Shimon, don't take all the torture for yourself."

"Who's Will?"

One more brick! It is possible that magic is helping to keep this small tower of lego bricks balancing on Atton's head. Just possible.

"Outlaw from ancient Earth. Good friend of mine. Red hair."

"......Is his surname 'Scarlett', by any chance?"

"You've met him then?"

[necessary_child]

"No." Sam shakes his head. "But there're stories, in his future. He ever mention a guy called Robin Hood?"

"Maybe? I dunno."

"He's a pretty famous outlaw, Robin Hood. By my time, anyway. Maybe the most famous of all. Will Scarlett's known for being one of the people in his group. Not as well known as Robin Hood, nowhere near, but known."

Pause.

"It'd probably be better not to tell him this, I suppose."

"Probably not. Though he may already know."

Sam shrugs. "Maybe. Probably better he doesn't if he doesn't know already, though. Might fuck around with history and all that noise. Cause something a sci-fi movie would use as a vital and very cliffhangery plot point."

"You'll have t'contain your excitement, then." Atton laughs.

"I know, I know." Sam hangs his head. "It'll be a struggle, but somehow I'll have to suffer through."
